Hanni + Andrew // Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club
Hanni and Andrew’s wedding day at Pike Lake Golf and Beach Club was the kind of day that keeps you on your toes—in the very best way.
The morning began with clouds hanging overhead and a forecast that hinted at rain. There were a few moments of watching the sky and refreshing weather apps, but Hanni and Andrew made the call to trust their vision: an outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake. And honestly, it was so them—hopeful, relaxed, and full of heart.
They chose not to do a first look, wanting to save that moment for the ceremony aisle. Instead, they exchanged private vows earlier in the day, tucked away from guests. It was quiet, emotional, and incredibly intentional. Those are the moments that feel like time slows down—just the two of them, sharing promises before the celebration officially began.
Because they skipped the first look, we had some extra coordinating to do to make sure all the wedding party portraits were finished on time. The timeline needed to be tight so Hanni and Andrew could fully enjoy cocktail hour with their guests instead of spending it away taking photos. With a little teamwork and efficiency (and an amazing bridal party), we made it happen seamlessly.
And then—right as the ceremony began—the sun came out.
As Hanni walked down the aisle, the clouds parted and the entire space was washed in the most beautiful light. It felt like the day exhaled. From that point on, everything glowed. The lake shimmered, the greens of the course popped, and the joy on everyone’s faces seemed even brighter.
The reception was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and a packed dance floor. One of the sweetest highlights was their first dance—made even more special when their kiddos joined them. It was one of those moments that perfectly captured their story: not just a wedding, but a celebration of the family they’ve already built together.
Once the dance floor really got going with the best DJ, Benny Nord on the floor, Jasper (on videography) and I had to sneak in and gently drag them away for just a few minutes. Golden hour was calling, and we weren’t about to miss it. The sky softened into warm tones, wrapping them in the dreamiest light to end the day. Those final portraits felt like the perfect exhale after such a full, beautiful celebration.
From rain clouds to golden glow, Hanni and Andrew’s wedding at Pike Lake was a reminder that sometimes the most magical days start with a little uncertainty—and end up even better than you imagined.
